Over the years, the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home, Inc. has served thousands of families in Philipsburg and surrounding towns during their time of need. Mr. Dahlgren's tradition of caring service began in 1950 and still exists today. In 1999, Holly J. Henry joined the funeral home staff as an intern. After being licensed, she stayed on as one of the funeral directors at Dahlgren's and is currently supervisor. Holly is well known in the area and has a great attention to detail. Holly, her husband Don, and daughter Grace, attend Trinity United Methodist Church of Philipsburg. Holly is a 1995 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola High School, a 1999 graduate of Gannon University with a degree in Mortuary Science and a 1999 graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science.
In early 2008, Mr. Dahlgren entered into retirement and sold the funeral home and its properties to Patrick J. Willar. Due to health reasons, Mr. Willar sold the business in December 2017 to Joseph Spewock. Joe grew up in a small mining suburb of Pittsburgh and graduated from Plum High School in 1993. He graduated from Community College of Allegheny County in 1996 with a degree in Business Management and graduated from the Pittsburgh Institue of Mortuary Science in January 1998. Joe and his wife Theresa have three children, Joseph, Regis and Viktoria. Joe owns the Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. in Madera and Ramey.
As we enter into a new era of funeral service at the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home, Inc. we will continue to provide comfort to our families with caring and professional service in their time of need.
